1:1 Initiative Receives Grant from 100 Women Who Care Jasper County

The 1:1 Technology Initiative at the Jasper County School District is the recipient of a $6,200 contribution from 100 Women Who Care Jasper County. Members of the giving circle voted for the 1:1 Technology Initiative during their final meeting of 2016 on October 13 in the Community Room of the Jasper County Chamber of Commerce.

The 1:1 Technology Initiative is a plan to implement technology in the classroom by providing Chromebooks for Jasper County students. The use of technology allows students to engage in new ways of learning, researching and creating projects. Gina Fox, the media specialist with Jasper County School District, represented the 1:1 Initiative.

100 Women Who Care Jasper County, a program of Jasper County Community Foundation, will resume its grantmaking in 2017 and is currently accepting new members. Those interested in joining can contact Amanda Lessley at 217-342-5409 or amanda@enrichingourcommunity.org to receive a new member information packet.
