Cody L Morris is the 2013 recipient of the Mike James Memorial Scholarship and was presented the award at Mattoon High School Honor’s Night.
He is the son of Cathy and Rodney Morris of Lerna. He will be attending Lake Land College in the fall and will be pursuing a degree in Agricultural science. He will receive a $1000 scholarship over the course of the next 2 years while attending Lake land.
The Mike James Memorial scholarship is one of several scholarships administered by the Mattoon Area Community Foundation. The scholarship fund was established in 2002 by Mattoon resident, Lorri James in honor of her late husband.
The scholarship is awarded to a MHS Senior football player and the recipients are voted on by a selection committee each year.
