Child Advocate Group Receives Grant to Improve Efficiency

The local organization responsible for advocating for children in the Effingham County Circuit Court System will now be able to do so more efficiently. CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) of Effingham County has received a $3,000 grant from the Bill and Jacquelyn Jordan Anderson Youth Fund to cover subscription fees for a new case management system.

CASA of Effingham County has more than 35 volunteer advocates and serves more than 50 children each year. With this new web-based case management system, staff members and volunteer advocates will have increased access to case data which will result in greater connections between advocate and child, more efficient organizational record keeping, and court reports that contain more specific details of a child’s case. These improvements will increase the overall effectiveness of the Effingham County CASA program.

The Bill and Jacquelyn Jordan Anderson Youth Fund was developed to support youth organizations in Effingham County. It is one of the many grant-making funds managed by the Southeastern Illinois Community Foundation.
