‘Techtopolis’ Progresses Toward Laptop and Tablet Goal

Teutopolis Unit #50 School District is the recipient of a $1,000 grant from Teutopolis State Bank Endowment to support the Teutopolis Technology Fund, also known as the Techtopolis program. Techtopolis is a district-wide technology improvement initiative which will implement the use of Chromebooks in every 2-12 grade classroom and tablets in every K-1classroom by the 2016-2017 school year. The increased use of technology in the classroom will engage 21st century learners, enhance learning opportunities and prepare students for higher education and future careers.

Teutopolis State Bank established a designated fund at the Effingham County Community Foundation in 2000 to support charitable organizations in Teutopolis working in the areas of civic, cultural health, health, education or social services.

Teutopolis State Bank is one of several funds administered by the Effingham County Community Foundation, an affiliate of the Southeastern Illinois Community Foundation. For more information regarding grants, contact Janeen Emory-Kolb at jemorykolb@enrichingourcommunity.org or call 217-342-4988.
