The Crawford County Community Foundation advisory board welcomes Alex Pleasant to its leadership team. Alex is the executive director of the Crawford County Development Association and joined the community foundation advisory board in January 2017.
Alex is a lifelong resident of Robinson who returned to his hometown after earning a bachelor of arts and law degree from University of Illinois Urbana Champaign. He and his wife, Siera, live in Robinson and are engaged in several local non-profits including the Robinson High School Alumni Association & Academic Foundation, the Robinson Kiwanis Club (in which he is Vice-President), and RE-NEW.
Crawford County Community Foundation exists as an affiliate of Southeastern Illinois Community Foundation, a regional 501 (c)(3) public charity that provides education, technical assistance and professional investment management of assets. The affiliate model frees up local leadership to focus on cultivating philanthropy and identifying community needs. Alex is joining five other individuals appointed to serve on the Crawford County Community Foundation: Tom Moore (chair), Kim Gray, Kent Thomas, Curt Goodwine, and Tony Pleasant. It is the role of the advisory board to ensure that gifts made through the community foundation are easy, personal and have a maximum impact in Crawford County.
