Community Foundation Adds New Members to Mattoon Advisory Board

The Southeastern Illinois Community Foundation board of directors recently appointed Tami Knight and Edward (Ned) Hoppin, M.D., to three year terms on the Mattoon Area Community Foundation Advisory Board.

Tami Knight is a partner with Kemper CPA Group LLP in Mattoon, Illinois. She primarily provides corporate, partnership and individual tax services, as well as attest work for commercial, governmental and non-profit entities. She received both her Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Master of Accountancy from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. She is a member of the board and serves as treasurer for Coles County CASA and Mattoon Chamber of Commerce. She has two daughters and has lived in the Mattoon area sine 2008.

Dr. Ned Hoppin is retired from Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center. He was born and raised in northern California, graduated from University of California at Berkeley and received his M.D. degree from St. Louis University School of Medicine. Dr. Hoppin was Director of the Regional Cancer Center from 1991 until 2008, when he became Vice President of Medical Affairs at Sarah Bush. He has served on several boards including Mattoon School Board, Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center, Coles County Public Health and Catholic Charities. He is currently a member of the Board of Coles County Council on Aging, Mattoon Rotary and Immaculate Conception Church. Dr. Hoppin and his wife, Barbara, have two sons and one granddaughter.

According to Rick Siemer, chair of the regional community foundation, “We are pleased to have Tami and Dr. Hoppin join the Mattoon Board Advisory Board. The knowledge they have about the needs of Mattoon and the surrounding area will be a great asset to the local foundation.” Mattoon Area Community Foundation manages 21 different funds totaling over $2.4 million in assets for the benefit of charitable programs and organizations in the area.
