The Southeastern Illinois Community Foundation board of directors recently appointed Samantha Eggleston, Katrina Butler and Steve Hardin to three-year terms on the Mattoon Area Community Foundation advisory board.
Samantha Eggleston is co-owner of Slumberland Furniture located in Mattoon. She and her husband, Scott, reside in Mattoon along with their two children. She enjoys giving back to the community by being involved with several charitable organizations.
Katrina Butler is a semi-retired certified professional coder with Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center and is active in the local American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) Chapter. Katrina has been actively giving back to her community since 1986. In addition to serving on the Mattoon Area Community Foundation advisory board, she currently serves as vice president of the Mattoon Chamber of Commerce; vice president of the Tarble Arts Center advisory board at Eastern Illinois University and is a member of the Coles County Habitat for Humanity Board. She is also a Kiwanian and was their President in 2006. Katrina also volunteers at the Kiwanis Peanut and Pancake Days, has served on the Mattoon Chamber Business Expo and Golf Outing committees. She has also volunteered with the Consolidated Special Olympics and Bagelfest through the Delta Theta Tau sorority, while serving as vice president and president. Katrina resides in Mattoon, with her husband, Dick.
Steve Hardin is the owner of Jack and Bill’s Clothing, a specialty clothing shop featuring tailored men’s clothing and tuxedos, in Mattoon. He has 46 years of business experience and has been the owner of Jack and Bill’s for 38 years. Mr. Hardin began working for Jack and Bill’s Clothing in Canton, IL in 1961 at the age of 14. He attended Spoon River Community College and Bradley University where he focused on marketing and retailing. After completing his education in 1968, Mr. Hardin began working at the Mattoon location of Jack and Bill’s and took over the business as owner in 1977. He and his wife, Carolyn, reside in Mattoon. Mr. Hardin also serves on the Southeastern Illinois Community Foundation board of directors.
According to Tami Knight, chair of the Mattoon Area Community Foundation advisory board, “We are pleased to have Samantha, Katrina and Steve join our local advisory board. Their knowledge of the needs of Mattoon and the surrounding area will be great assets to the local community foundation.”
Mattoon Area Community Foundation, an affiliate of Southeastern Illinois Community Foundation, manages 23 different funds totaling more than $2.4 million in assets for the benefit of charitable programs and organizations in the area.
