Effingham County Community Foundation Fills Board Seat

The board of directors of the Effingham County Community Foundation recently appointed Mr. Chuck Deters to a five year term on the board. Mr. Deters is Vice President of Business Development for the First National Bank of Dieterich, a resident of Teutopolis, a graduate of Teutopolis High School. He and his wife, Anita, have four children and enjoy staying active in church and school activities. “It’s important to me to be active in my community and I participate in a number of civic organizations such as Friends of St. Anthony, Teutopolis Community for Progress, Effingham Civic Foundation, Teutopolis Educational Foundation and the Teutopolis Lions Club”.

“I am very happy to welcome Chuck to the board of directors, said Joedy Hightower, President and CEO of the Southeastern Illinois Community Foundation. “Chuck has served on the Grants Committee for the Effingham County Community Foundation since 2004. His knowledge of the foundation’s history as well as his professional expertise will be a great asset to the foundation.”

Established in 1999, the Effingham County Community Foundation is a component fund of the newly established Southeastern Illinois Community Foundation. The community foundation manages a collection of funds and resources given by local citizens and organizations to enhance and support the quality of life in Effingham County and surrounding communities. The executive officers of the Effingham County Community Foundation local leadership board include: Claude Hudson, Chair; Brett Kingery, Vice Chair; Jeff Richards, Treasurer; and Carolyn Spraul, Secretary. Additional directors include: Bill McClain, Ryan Eckhardt, Jim Schultz, Richard Siemer, Cheryl Compton, Joy Kirby, Blake Linders, and Craig Kabbes.
