Ryan Rappe is the 2016 recipient of the Mike James Memorial Scholarship. The scholarship is awarded to a MHS Senior football player and the recipients are voted on by a selection committee each year.
Ryan is the son of Randy and Sheri Rappe. He will attend Eureka College in the fall. He will receive a $2,000 scholarship over the course of four years.
The Mike James Memorial scholarship is one of several scholarships administered by the Mattoon Area Community Foundation. The scholarship fund was established in 2002 by Mattoon resident, Lorri James, in honor of her late husband.
