Recipients Announced for 2025 Croft Brothers Challenge Scholarship

(EFFINGHAM, Illinois – June 13, 2025) Southeastern Illinois Community Foundation is pleased to announce Effingham County students who have been awarded the 2025 Croft Brothers Challenge Scholarship.

Joni Beckman, a 2025 graduate of Teutopolis High School, will be studying Advertising at Lake Land College. Allie Drees, a 2023 graduate of Teutopolis High School, is pursuing an Audio Recording Technology degree from Eastern Illinois University. Bodey Rietz, a 2025 graduate of St. Anthony High School, will be pursuing Retail Management at the University of South Carolina. Isaac Vahling, a 2024 graduate of Teutopolis High School, is pursuing a music degree at the University of Illinois.

The Croft Brothers Challenge Scholarship, a fund of the Southeastern Illinois Community Foundation, was established by Terry Croft, a self-employed Effingham businessman. Mr. Croft established the scholarship in honor of his late brother, Larry.
