Recipients of 2018 Siemer Milling Endowment Youth Leadership Grants Announced

Siemer Milling Endowment’s Grant Committee is pleased to announce the following recipients from its 2018 grant cycle: Girl Scouts of Southern Illinois, Beecher City High School FBLA Club and the Environmental Education Association of Illinois.

(Above) Girl Scouts of Southern Illinois received a $10,000 grant to provide program training to cadettes interested in providing STEM-based program and mentorship to younger Girl Scouts in Effingham County. (Above) The Environmental Education Association of Illinois received $2,350 for marketing efforts to increase student attendance at its annual professional development conference through a special careers-focused workshop and a scholarship for local students to cover the cost of conference fees. The Siemer Milling Company Endowment, a fund of Southeastern Illinois Community Foundation, was established in 2006 for the purpose of providing a permanent source of funding to programs in Effingham County that support the development of young leaders. Since its inception, the Siemer Milling Company Endowment has contributed more than $148,000 to nonprofit organizations serving Effingham County.
