(Mattoon, Illinois – June 19, 2025) Southeastern Illinois Community Foundation is pleased to announce that it has awarded 55 students with the John L, Harry L, and Catherine Smysor Scholarship.
2025 Windsor High School graduate recipients:
Aubrey Carter will pursue an early childhood care and education degree at Eastern Illinois University.
Luke Dispennett will begin his studies at Purdue University for an economics degree.
Anthony Harris plans to attend Lake Land College to pursue an agricultural degree.
Rylan Rincker will pursue a trades school degree at Lake Land College.
Josie Roberts plans to attend Eastern Illinois University pursuing an engineering degree.
Karissa Sanders plans to pursue a degree in education at Lake Land College.
Avery Starwalt will be attending Southern Illinois University to study chemistry.
Halle Wright will be attending the University of Mississippi in the healthcare field.

Established by the generous gift of farm ground from Harry, John and Catherine Smysor of Windsor, Illinois, the John L, Harry L, and Catherine Smysor Scholarship supports students pursuing higher education who have demonstrated financial need and have contributed to their community through acts of service. Preference is given to current seniors and alumni of Windsor High School as well as dependents of Windsor High School alumni.
