The Teutopolis State Bank Fund recently granted $167 to the C.E.F.S. Learning Center for its Adult Volunteer Literacy Program. The program serves those age 17 and older, who are not enrolled in high school, and lack sufficient skill in reading, writing, math, and English.

The grant will fund the purchase of 10 pre-GED books for adult learners to increase literacy skills.

Since 1913, Teutopolis State Bank has taken pride in giving back to the community. With this desire, Teutopolis State Bank established a designated fund with Southeastern Illinois Community Foundation in 2000 to support charitable organizations in Teutopolis working in the areas of civic, cultural health, education, health or social services. According to Jerry Runde, “As the Teutopolis State Bank continues its civic involvement throughout the community it remains dedicated to serving shareholders, clients, neighbors and friends through this grant process. With the bank’s extensive range of civic involvement, no organization or project is too big or too small to forego support from this fund.”
