Twenty-five students from Effingham, St. Anthony, Beecher City, Altamont, Teutopolis, and Dieterich form the 2010-2011 CEO class, and instructor Craig Lindvahl feels that this will be an outstanding group of young business leaders. “This is a group comfortable with asking questions, comfortable with exploring new ideas, and they are excited about the learning we’ll do together”, Lindvahl said. “I’m sure they’ll do things that will be amazing.”

The class has already visited several area businesses, including the Prairie Training Centre, Uphill Grind, Burkland’s Florist, and Hodgson’s Mill. The class also has its first class business, providing identification badges for the CEO class and the Teutopolis/Effingham multimedia class, well underway. The class has also explored some of the basic fundamentals of business, including revenue, expense, cash flow, inventory management, working with suppliers, and wholesale/retail pricing. The class meets every morning from 7:30-9:00 AM, and visitors are welcome. Until the unveiling of the new class website, anyone who wishes to visit the class can email Craig Lindvahl at clindvahl@effingham.net for the location and activities of the class.
