(SHELBYVILLE, Illinois – June 23, 2025) Southeastern Illinois Community Foundation is pleased to announce the 2025 recipients of the Hazel York Scholarship. Scholarships totaling $4,200 have been awarded to graduates of Shelby County who will be studying medicine or nursing.
The recipients are:
- Grace Carroll, a graduate of Stewardson-Strasburg High School studying physical therapy at Eastern Illinois University.
- Olivia Spour, a 2025 graduate of Teutopolis High School pursuing a degree in exercise science/physical therapy at Eastern Illinois University.
The Hazel York Scholarship is made possible by the generous scholarship endowment supporting current seniors and graduates of high schools in Shelby County, Illinois who are studying medicine or nursing.
