Members of 100 Women Who Care Jasper County selected Lincoln’s Place as the recipient of the $4,900 contribution collected at its first membership meeting of 2018 on April 12 at the Newton Community High School.
Lincoln’s Place is an all-inclusive playground that will be built in Peterson Park and will feature playground equipment designed to be accessible to children and adults of all physical and cognitive abilities.
100 Women Who Care Jasper County, a program of Southeastern Illinois Community Foundation, will make two more contributions in 2018. New members may join at any time throughout the year. The amount of money contributed will increase as new members join. Members commit to donating $400 annually. The first $100 supports the Jasper County Community Endowment that will be used to serve future needs for years to come. The remaining $300 is used to support the three Jasper County nonprofits selected by the members throughout the year ($100 at each meeting). A reduced cost membership is available to younger members at $200 annually ($50 for membership dues; $50 per meeting).
100 Women Who Care Jasper County will hold its next meeting on September 13 at 6 p.m. (registration will open at 5 p.m.). Those interested in joining can contact Amanda Lessley at 217.342.5409 or amanda@enrichingourcommunity.org to receive a new member information packet.
