Wyatt Fuesting has been named the first recipient of the newly established Dieterich American Legion Trades Scholarship. A recent graduate of Dieterich High School, Wyatt plans to pursue a degree in construction at Lake Land College.
The Dieterich American Legion Trades Scholarship is awarded to seniors at Dieterich High School based on financial need, academic performance, and community involvement.
The scholarship was created by the members of Dieterich American Legion Post 628 following the sale of the American Legion building in 2022.
The Dieterich American Legion Trades Scholarship is a fund of the Southeastern Illinois Community Foundation. Southeastern Illinois Community Foundation manages more than 200 funds for the immediate and long-term benefit of communities in southeastern Illinois.
