The Effingham County Community Foundation recently named Tiffany Beccue and Roccio Carrillo as the 2014 recipients of the Diane Siemer Scholarship. The purpose of the Diane Siemer Scholarship Fund is to perpetuate higher educational opportunities by providing scholarships to GED (General Equivalency Diploma) graduates in Effingham County.
Beccue received her GED in April 2012 and will be receiving a $2,500 scholarship to attend Lake Land College and is enrolled in the LPN program.
Carrillo received her GED in September 2013 and will be receiving a $2,500 scholarship to attend Southern Illinois University Edwardsville and plans to continue her education in the nursing program.
The Diane Siemer Scholarship Fund was established by Diane’s family in honor of her long career in education working with individuals to earn their high school diploma by completing the General Educational Development (GED) test.
